I watch Lost and this season as one of the Delta Park Project’s research interns I figured it would be helpful to liveblog my thoughts. First of all, the episode description from Lostpedia doesn’t exist so here’s what TiVo says: Daniel Faraday comes clean about what he knows of the island.
So here goes! I scribble these as I watch so I claim no coherency. It wouldn’t even make sense to anyone who doesn’t watch the show already and yeah, if you haven’t seen this episode, Thar Be Spoilers Ahead. Yarr.

* Sorry. I got distracted and I couldn’t think. My brain was full of awesome.

* Oh it is him! I wonder why he stopped playing piano. He was really good. Does he still?
* That was some freaky math there, Daniel.
* “I can make time.” “If only you could.” Oh I think he can.
* Yes James, what ARE you busy with at 6am?

* I love that he’s so casual about the bound up yelling man in the closet.
* So this is how Daniel got down in the hole with the Doctor Mister Changdlewick that time. Got it.
* But are we going to find out why? TELL ME WHY!
* Daniel wants through the wall in the bad way.
* Oh no he doesn’t.
* Daniel wants to help get everyone out! I feel bad for him that he doesn’t seem to get anything to go his way.
* How does he know the accident happens in six hours? Or that it’s catastrophic?
* Can he get Changdlewick to believe him?
* I don’t think we’re done with Miles and Changdlewick yet either, there’s more there too. At least I want there to be more.
* Oh it’s like that! Just blurted it out?
* Is MILES the Variable?
* Come on Miles, fess up.
* So DANEL is why Miles and his mom moved away? That’s kind of sad.
* WOW Eloise is certainly cold.
* Why was I worried about #ShaggyScola when clearly #FloppyhairFaraday is a MUCH bigger issue.
* Does he know anything about who Widmore really is?
* Poor Dan, I feel bad for him more now.
* What is she talking about?
* So there’s the journal. Is SHE the Variable?

* Somehow I always thought Miles and Sawyer would be good friends.
* What does Daniel know that he isn’t telling us??

* Was Chucky a Hostile for awhile too?

* Now it’s the fake plane.
* Here we are at the start of last season?
* Chucky?
* So now Dan has no memory? Short term?
* Wired. Heh.
* New opportunity?
* What on earth does Chucky want with Daniel, especially now?
* Old friends? So does he know?
* I hate when everything hinges on Kate.
* Oh look, Juliet stepped up and sorted it out.
* Fence: 141717 I wonder what that is.
* I wonder who the “us” is Juliet means. Her and Sawyer?
* Is the war between the Losties who go and the Hostiles?
* Oh now Dan finds Charlotte….
* Wouldn’t Miles be interested to know that’s CHARLOTTE over there?
* Do you have something for a beginner? hahaha
* Yes, with BULLETS being fired, let’s all get in the one OPEN vehicle with NO protection and drive away.
* Is mom what screwed up his playing?
* I get that he needs to be fixed, but was it what happened with Theresa that broke him or something else?
* Why isn’t she proud of him already?
* What side is SHE on? Is Ellie helping Widmore? What does it gain her? How does that line up with Ben?
* Any one of us could die. So don’t wear a red shirt LIKE JULIET.
* Oh crap Hugo’s got a red shirt on under his jumpsuit too. NO NO NO NO don’t take Hurley!
* I just got shot by a physicist! heh.
* Oh that can’t be good.
* Yeah look, a guy in the closet. And no witty comment from Sawyer?
* Dan seems really on top of it right now.
* Gee, I wonder if he’s rebelling against destiny because it’s been forced on him all his life.
* Detonate the H bomb? That’s…extreme.
* Why doesn’t she know now? Why did she know before?
* Oh thank Gord he’s all right.
* They are so lovely.
* Sacrifice?
* I have a very hard time wtih Chucky because I don’t understand what he gains here.
* Y halo thar Hostulz! I can haz Ellie?
* MANSCARA! It’s been awhile, buddy! How are things?
* Three seconds? Listen to you Daniel!
* OMG!
* She didn’t know? She knew. Right?

* I keep feeling like I need another little snippet of conversation. Between Daniel and Chucky, Ellie and Chucky, Hurley and ANYBODY.
* Maybe Ellie knew after. Like, at the time she didn’t know but later in her timeline she finds out everything.
* I am VERY curious how (to Penny) she says she doesn’t know what is going to happen like she somehow does the rest of the time.
* I also really want to know more about how it went down with evacuating people.
* So maybe Miles was born there. And Charlotte. And let’s say Daniel too. What about Naomi?
* Is the bomb what effs up the island for babies being born on it? If so, how?
* What does this mean for Theresa?
Not as excited about this episode in general. I am gonna miss Daniel. I hope we get more action in the finale!

Not as excited about this episode? We got ANSWERS tonight! The purpose of the hatch.. the reason they had to continue to reset the clock.. the failure to reset said clock – which caused the energy release that brought their plane down. C’mon Verso – don’t drift now!
Granted, I had a three finger pour of scotch at my side — but I think you missed a key conversation between Ellie and Chucky outside the hospital. Those two had a case of jungle fever on the island. Let’s face it – YOUNG Ellie was hotter than biscuits.. Chucky apparently agreed – and played hide the palm tree!! Chucky is Dan’s DAD??!! Oh, SNAP!
Faraday to Jack: ‘When I met you, did I have a scar on my neck? No, because I hadn’t been shot yet.’ This goes to my theory all along, as you know. Locke can walk – because he hasn’t had the confrontation with his dad yet. Rose doesn’t have cancer – because she hasn’t been diagnosed yet. And the father of Sun’s baby is still unknown b/c of the time warp.
Faraday to Jack & Kate: ‘We can change our destiny.’ I contend this is a MAIN theme of this show. Given the chance to revisit our past – is there anything we would do differently to ‘change our destiny’ – especially if we literally had knowledge of how our original decisions impacted our lives?
Among the many things still unclear — why are some of the returning survivors in 1977, and others in 2007? Why is it – that Danny says ‘any one of us can die – at any time’ — yet the island ‘healed’ Locke after Benry shot him in the Dharma body pit.. And obviously brought him back from the DEAD when the second plane crashed? Why wouldn’t the island heal Danny, too? I’m not convinced he’s dead.
Next week, my main man Locke once again appears to support my theory that he WILL be the hero in all this.
You make VERY valid points, however: We only got confirmation of some answers. At least, I did. I figured Widmore was Daniel’s dad awhile ago, once we saw the bit about the “pocket of energy” it stood to reason why we have a Hatch. Why it’s 108 minutes, we don’t know, why that’s what works, we don’t know.
I didn’t miss the conversation, I just needed more of it! On the research intern mailing list we figured out Chucky was Father Faraday awhile ago. Or at least presumed it, so confirmation wasn’t as exciting for me.
I like your timeline idea, I want that to be true, but I’m not entirely convinced. It makes more sense than “The Island heals people” but mysterious healing Island sounds way more likely on this show. (:
Destiny: Oh this show is up to it’s eyeballs in destiny! I’m totally with you there. Something I noticed was that it seemed like there was a split between those who were ok (or made peace) with their choices, and those who really weren’t. I’m still sad about Daniel’s destiny though.
I really want to know how we’re going to get Sun and Jin back together, and if Frank still has any part to play, and the bigger picture bits of how Benry and Chucky’s fight comes out and what on earth is so bloody important about this island that Charles has now basically sacrificed two of his children for it.
I hope Locke and Hurley go have an adventure, I hate when he’s sidelined. Next week should prove interesting though!
