I watch Lost and this season as one of the Delta Park Project’s research interns I figured it would be helpful to liveblog my thoughts. First of all, the episode description from Lostpedia: The fate of those left on the island after Locke turned the wheel is revealed, as Sawyer, Juliet, and company meet the DHARMA Initiative.
So here goes! I scribble these as I watch so I claim no coherency. It wouldn’t even make sense to anyone who doesn’t watch the show already and yeah, if you haven’t seen this episode, Thar Be Spoilers Ahead. Yarr.
* Still surprised to see Sawyer care about something that isn’t him. And it’s nice.
* Way before the well was built?
* OMG! FULL ON STATUE! How many fingers does it have?
* Is this the same “fix” of the wheel as when Locke had his whole Jacob Christian conversation?
* They all feel better? WTF?
* Are they in their right time or where the Island needs them to be?
* Three years later? And it’s reel to reel tape and feathered hair?
* Who is that and what are they doing?
* Horace? He was the illusion from before right? Who talked to Locke?
* La Fleur, huh? It’s Sawyer or Locke.
* I know that “WHAT!?” It’s SO Sawyer.
* How long a con is this long con?
* Heh. Miles in his little jumpsuit.
* Enid? Enos?
* Horace doesn’t drink but he’s out there loaded and dynamiting trees?
* Horace is our fearless leader?
* Amy?
* Lookin a little book club up in here…
* By the Flame?
* Jim? He’s Jim Le Fleur?
* Coconut Telegram? I’m glad he’s still Sawyer in there a little bit.
* …and back. urgh.
* Does he mean Charlotte disappeared or that she’s “traveling” like before?
* Oh she actually vanished. ok.
* Of course it’s over? Why of course?
* Now she’s calling him Sawyer again?
* The only two plans you people have. heh.
* Shooting?
* Oh great who’s that?
* Rousseau maybe?
* Daniel sure is useful now.
* That poor woman, I’m very worried for her.
* She looks familiar. I’m not sure why.

* Truce? What truce? The other Others…Hostiles, right? Richard and them?
* Daniel! STOP! Why?
* Jeez! She was really going to let them just walk into it?

* Oh that’s why she looks familiar.

* I love that we still see the van.
* Why, after screwing them like that to start, is Sawyer so interested in helping her?
* Hey jackass, do NOT argue with a woman in labor!
* Horace still sleeping it off?
* I like Jin with the wavy hair.
* Grid 133? I guess they’ve been at it for awhile.
* Look at her. I’m thinking no.
* It worked!? OMG it worked! So what went wrong? And when?
* How much before Ben are we? Are they gonna meet baby Ben?
* Is his name really James La Fleur? I wonder. I don’t remember if we ever learned his real name.
* Nice, pulling Black Rock into it.
* I know they stay so now I’m very curious how they manage it.
* Wrong song? Hrm.
* OMG Daniel just saw Charlotte.
* So if we presume Miles and Charlotte are near the same age then is Miles here somewhere too? And by extensions Doctor Mister Candle/wick/wax?
* Here comes a Hostile?
* And I’ll bet ten bucks it’s guyliner.
* Manscara and the Longhair….wasn’t that a 70’s show?
* Banzai? Heh.
* !!!! “Your buddy out there with the eyeliner.” I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed.
* So Sawyer just lays it out there. I’m feeling like this can’t end well.
* What are you? OMG Is he about to be an Other?
* Oh SERIOUSLY this is about to be awesome.
* He needs Paul, right? Yup.
* And THIS is how he gets to stay.
* Jeez, the music on this show.
* Is Juliet going to go?
* She does have a point, Locke said he LEFT.
* The Mad Scientist and I Speak To Dead People.
* They are fun to watch together.
* “Just gimme two weeks.” Here’s the right thing to say to that: “Two weeks? Do you have any idea how long that will ACTUALLY be?”
* Oh look, three years later I bet she’s still there.
* Dharma Merlot is still funny.
* They seem famililar. Oh it’s like that.
* Here we are with Horace?
* I wonder what his answer will be.
* A pair of socks?
* It was Paul’s? So? She can’t hold on to something?
* And with the music again….
* I’m going to presume he means Kate. I can see if he doesn’t wanna remember her, but what DOES he remember after all the purplesky?
* I gotta go? Oh don’t play her like that, it ain’t right.
* Who’s him I wonder?
* OMG!!!!!!!!!!!
* They landed in 1974 too?
* But that’s only two of the six?
* What’s Sawyer gonna say to them?
* Ohhhhhhh no. He just finished saying….

THEORIES:
- I thought this at first, who’s to say the “where” they ended up in is their now at all? It coulda been Four Toed Statue Period for all we knew!
- I wonder what will happen to the “looking for our crew” story. Are they gonna say they found em and here they are now?
- Are they going to get to stay?
- Which is worse: Stay on the island or leave and go live in 1974? I vote stay. 1974 was a REALLY unattractive era. Not to mention how you could goof up your own timelines.
- I miss Penny and Desmond. How does all of this come down for them?
- Do our Losties somehow become part of the Hostiles Insurrection that eventually eliminates Dharma?
- I’m SO curious how Ben fits into this new piece of story.
- Also: What about Frank and our as yet unseen Losties? Do they all end up here?
- Will any of them get to go home?
- Now I think I believe Charlotte about the crazy creepy old guy being Daniel.
- Speaking of Daniel, is this why he’s in the hole when they try to get to where the wheel is? That means they ARE there with baby Miles.
