Lost Liveblog S05E06 – 316

Yes, my theme is still broken, but it’s getting better I swear! All the text is there.
I watch Lost and this season as one of the Delta Park Project’s research interns I figured it would be helpful to liveblog my thoughts. First of all, the episode description from Lostpedia: The way back to the island is revealed to members of the Oceanic 6, but there’s trouble ahead when not all of them wish to return.

So here goes! I scribble these as I watch so I claim no coherency. It wouldn’t even make sense to anyone who doesn’t watch the show already and yeah, if you haven’t seen tonight’s episode, Thar Be Spoilers Ahead. Yarr.

* He looks a lot younger somehow. Just becuase he shaved?

* Is this like when they first get there? I don’t remember them being here before.

* 46 hours? It took 46 hours to go from EllieChurch to Island?
* I still don’t know about this “short notice” stuff. He seems to be a man who plans and plans. How is it short?
* Why does a church have a HIGH VOLTAGE Door?
* Why isn’t she surprised to see any of those people, but surprised that’s all that Benry could get?
* Lighthouse station? It’s a DHARMA Station logo anyway. Hm.
* Oh, it’s the Lamp Post. I was close!
* I see she’s dealt with Benry before. “Probably not.”
* A pocket of energy? hmmm.
* So what particular characteristic do the other places share? Does this spot phase in and out of time?
* Was “This Man” Hanso or Doctor Professor Chang-dle-wax or Daniel?
* If theirs closes in 36 hours how is this 44 hours before they got there?
* Yes Desi, why are you here?
* I wonder if Desi gets roped in too.
* When is one of them gonna get clocked with the pendulum?
* I think that’s the strongest emotion we’ve seen Desmond have in a long time.
* Ajira Airways? Familiar.
* Why 316? Not 416? That’s at least two of the Numbers.
* What hold does this Island have on any of them? Is it because they happened to crash there? Or is there some other reason?
* What does Jack get that nobody else does?
* Is that how you spell Jack’s last name? I’ve sort of wondered.
* Locke hung himself? Did we know that?
* Is Locke going to get Jacob Christian’s place on the plane?
* OMG I’m right!
* How does Benry know what to do in a church pew?
* Does the picture of Thomas mean something particular?
* Jack = Thomas?
* That’s not how I remember that story. Jesus offered and Thomas said no.
* A loose end? Eek! I have a hunch Benry’s loose ends should RUN FOR THEIR LIVES!
* That bar looks a little like The Encounter or Experience or whatever it is, the big round one at LAX.
* Ray? Do I remember Ray? He seems familiar…
* Oh he’s granddad. Got it.
* The pretty one with all the freckles? HER NAME WAS FRECKLES!
* Oh look, daddyshoes. How conVENient.
* OK, I’mma go out on a limb here and say that if you know you are headed back to that island aren’t you gonna take your iPod or some comfy shoes or SOMEthing else?
* Yes, let’s just sashay on in to a dark room unarmed and hope for the best shall we?
* Oh good it’s just Kate. He can totally take her. (:
* What about Aaron? Technically he was on the plane.
* Oh my GORD. What happened to Aaron?
* Hasn’t Jack had enough crazy from her yet? That pendulum in the Elliechurch basement has smaller swings than Kate!
* Mmmm. Coffee.
* Why does Kate look freaked out that Jack was nice?
* Did she have a rubber band or something? That was serious hair-fu right there.
* He wasn’t worth a nice pair of shoes? That’s so very sad.
* Oh good a ringing phone.

* Why is he covered in blood?
* What did he do?
* Wherever you are? That says Jack thinks he stands a chance.
* I wish he’d read the note. I’m very interested in what it says even if Jack isn’t. (:
* Ajira Air? I wonder if you unscramble it into something or if Ajira is a word for something else. #lookup
* So who is that guy? I’m sure I know. Or should. He’s related to Ana Lucia?
* Oh look, a LOSTie in cuffs getting on the plane.
* Yeah how DID Hurley know?
* So we have Sayid, Hurley, Jack, Kate, Sun…Isn’t Aaron #6?
* So WTF DID happen to Aaron?
* “Who cares?” THAT is why Ben scares me.
* Will we find out what happened to him?
* Sayid that’s a mighty low cut top you’re wearing.
* That doesn’t make us together? Does she mean the O6 or does she mean her and Jack?
* Lapidas? WTF? DUDE! Lapidas looks really good!
* “We’re not going to Guam are we?” ROFL!
* OFFTOPIC: I can NOT wait to see Nathan Fillion cheese it up in Castle. I hope it’s good.
* TO THIS DAY Benry in those little reading glasses cracks me up.
* “How can you read!?” “My mother taught me.” heh.

* Stay after school with Miz Hawking? hee hee!
* I don’t understand WHY Jack would even bother talking to Benry. It never ends well.
* How does Benry know it wasn’t Jack’s fault? He sounds so sure.
* FINALLY the note.
* I wish you had believed me. That sounds so sad. I wonder if Locke talked to Jack Before.
* Nice move with the eye mask Hurley!
* I wonder what’s in that case still.
* Now I really do wonder if that’s Charlie’s Guitar.
* I also wonder if this means the Island took all the people on the plane or just the ones it wanted/needed.
* Um. Is it the Dharma bus?
* OMG IT IS!

Here’s where my crackpot theories and random observations go:

* When they played last week’s popup episode it said that when Benry claimed he was doing all this “keeping safe” it was because he was having Sayid go after Widmore’s people. I guess I could see that. I wondered WTF he meant and now question answered!
* Ajira: Webster’s online dictionary says it means “island”.
* Ulysses by James Joyce: It’s a Gutenberg book!
* So how did Jin end up wearing a nice clean Dharma Jumpsuit?
* Why was the Dharma Bus in REALLY good shape? It didn’t look cleaned up it looked new.
* Did Jin end up jumping because the rest of them had a jump?
* What does Jin time look like right now? Where are we in his timeline?
* Is this time like, part of the Dharma era? Somehow Jin and Daniel are (Dharmas? Dharmi? Dharmani?) now?
* Since Jin is jumping and so far is the only one we’ve seen, if the rest made it ok does that mean Jin swaps for Aaron in the O6 perhaps? TECHNICALLY he left, and sort of came back, right?
* I think the promo showed Benry kneeling in front of Locke. I bet he was SO not surprised Locke hung himself.
* Next week appears to be 99 Ways To Die If You Are John Locke. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
* You know, I thought we were only getting another 32 episodes, 16 in Season 5 and 16 more in Season 6 and that’s ALL. Is it just because I have a lot MORE questions I don’t feel like I’m getting any answers?
