I am liveblogging each episode of Doctor Who as I watch it. I am publishing a raw stream of consciousness list of things I am considering and wondering about as I watch. In the interest of not spoiling anything for anyone I am putting all of it behind the jump.
This episode is the third episode of Season Four (or Thirty depending who you ask), called Planet Of The Ood. From the site: The Doctor takes Donna to her first alien world – but the Ood-Sphere reveals some terrible truths about the Human Race.
* Hey the Ood! I remember you!
* Middle management sales villains. WOW!
* Oh zappy? I didn’t know they could do that!
* She’s so excited. Awesome! That’d be me.
* OMG a rocket.
* Let’s see where he’s goin! Yeah, she’s awesome.
* redeye?: hmmm.
* Oh poor Ood! It’s a he not an it. Awesome!
* OMG Crazy Ood! And now nothing.
* Solana seems a little….I don’t know what. She seems like she missed a step or something,. Or doesn’t care or something. Does she really believe what she is telling them?
* Human empire? Three galaxies? Bees! Talk more about the bees!
* Don’t the Ood get a say in this?
* Rabid!! Wow.
* Drink? Nice habit of tonic there. How can you tell it’s actually working for you hmm?
* Yow! They ARE slaves aren’t they?
* So busy I couldn’t save them. I was busy! I owe them one.
* oooOOoooh, what’s in Warehouse 15? Is it icky? Why won’t they show me?
* Say hello to Daddy? What IS down there?
* Really? More people talking into watches?
* What does he do with all those glasses? (drink!)
* Why did the drink make it angry? Isn’t it just itself?
* Heh. An entirely different planet, maybe an entire other time, and still it’s full of rail containers. (:
* “Spaceman.” I love that smirk of his.
* The circle must be broken so that we can sing? hmmm.
* WOW I am disliking Solana more by the minute. MY ASS it’s a fire drill!
* Where is he going? What’s in there?
* OMG a giant claw toy? WOW. And that was as intense a few minutes as they’ve ever had on this show.
* You’re really in trouble, not from me from her! hee!
* OK they ended up with Little Miss PR. This is her big chance to help!…….annnnd, no. Does she get another chance? Does she know what she did?
* Why are they going rabid? This is interesting.
* Fetch the canisters? THAT doesn’t sound good.
* What are they doing in the cage? What’s wrong with them? Oh, nothing. They’re normal.
* Song of Captivity is very intense. And very sad. I’m glad after 900 years or whatever he’s still capable of feeling like that.
* You go crazy on em Doctor! Yeah!
* Go Donna!
* Oh that little event isn’t going to end well. Nope? RedEye everywhere!
* Yay! One toasty douchebag. Good.
* Oh, she didn’t get a chance to learn. I want to feel bad for her but I kind of can’t.
* And Mister Army Man is the one that got gassed. Nice!
* Oh goody, there’s a chance the third piece is malfunctioning which could be why red eye and he’s gonna destroy it?
* DoctorDonnaFRIENDS! Man that was close! I know there are more episodes this season but there for a sec…
* Detonation Packs!? That’s the best thing you could call them? Really?
* What is “this thing” they want to kill?
* Ohhh, it’s a brain. wow. ew. So if it really is the brain that is short circuiting then why would you destroy it?
* Ack! How would that be, death by brain? At least it has no nerves so he didn’t hurt anything, but what happened to him??
* And then there was patience….WOW!! Who knew that would be something they were even capable of?
* Interesting: He’s Ood kind and we will take care of him. Is that actual taking care or airquote taking care?
* I love the song, it sounds a little different soundwise but super different vibe than last time.
* I think I like how they are evolving as characters and feeling more comfortable with each other. Nice.
* I liked this one because it did a bit of the Battlestar Galactica thing where you see some very obvious parallels between what’s happening in the episode and what’s happening here on my version of Earth. It’s pretty interesting to see what happens and the angle taken here.
