A teeny bit of justice

So I don’t know if you heard about it or not, but FEMA had a news conference recently. And it turns out it was fake. And now, a teeny bit of justice in the world! It looks like the guy behind it was about to get a new job and now it won’t happen. I hope it’s for all the obvious reasons. Finally something that should have happened ACTUALLY happened. It doesn’t bring complete balance to the Force but it does help.

Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 365 days or fewer. The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR LJ/blog - cause it’s fun to give people***

Riddle Me This…

So I have been watching coverage of the fires in southern California. I have family in Southern California and my thoughts and prayers are with them as well as anyone who lost a home or is currently sleeping in Jack Murphy Stadium. I am very confused by a bunch of things and I am going to ask those questions here.

* Do we have ANY National Guardsmen (and yes, Guardswomen) left to fight this fire or assist in evacuation or anything?
* Now when people say “Call the National Guard!”, is there anyone left to answer?
* Why does it seem like this snuck up on the Federal folks but the state people are saying this is not news?
* How come Fox News can’t seem to figure it out?
* Did Bush REALLY just say “a plot to fly passenger planes into Heathrow Airport and buildings into downtown London”?
* Did I just hear Bush call it “the FEMA”?
* Can we do anything about bringing troops home who aren’t supposed to be there? We need the NATIONAL guard here NATIONALLY.
* How did this wildfire stuff happen to go well and Katrina went SO poorly?
* I don’t want to be mean, but do you think making people in southern California live in the Katrina FEMA trailers would make the Katrina FEMA trailers a huge national crisis?
* Does it seem like bringing up Katrina is ANY kind of a good idea right now?

I think that’s all for right now.
I have other questions but I will post them later. In the meantime I answered some questions and you can see them on VanPortlander where my friend Aaron did an interview with me for his “Meet A Local Blogger” series. It was fun. (:

Come and get me you bastard!

I was watching Countdown (and if you don’t then why the hell not) with Keith Olbermann and I just saw the part where he talked about (comedian) Rush Limbaugh and how he (Rush) was on Hannity and Colmes swearing up one side and down the other that he’d never attacked the family of Graeme Frost and of course sounded shocked (shocked!) at the very mention of it. He then proceeded to….

Watch for yourself. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t believe me if I described it to you.

Then Rush goes on to say:

If you would turn on my radio show and listen to me, you would know I never once attacked — I would not attack a 12- year-old kid. I feel sorry for the fact that the kid is having words put in his mouth, he’s sent out before the whole country to lie, when he can’t know any better, because he’s 12-year-old, simply to advance another lie that the Democrats want to put forth..,

Riiiiiiiight. This from the man who did an appalling imitation of Michael J Fox and never actually apologized for accusing a man with Parkinson’s of “faking”. I’ll bet money he’s pissed at all those fake soldiers who are missing limbs that nowget access to handicapped good parking spaces.

Well guess what Rush? Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a 12 year old boy. I’m a big girl and I can take it. So here goes:

You are a miserable waste of space. You are a blight upon this nation. You are the boil on America’s ass in desperate need of a sharp object, swiftly applied. In fact I am convinced that YOUR ass is the ass seen on Goatse* and the reason it looks the way it looks is because YOUR HEAD has been up there longer than you’ve had an Oxycontin habit. I do not believe that not having a dick means I have to kowtow to anyone who acts like one. If makes me a Feminazi, then I am a proud Feminazi. I think S-CHIP is a good idea. I have the right to choose. And I have the right as an American with a capital motherfucking A, to call you a pompous self-absorbed delusional jackass, desperately in love with the sound of your own voice, never letting facts get in the way of a righteously indignant personal attack.

Leave Graeme Frost alone. Leave Bethany Wilkerson alone. Come after me instead. I’m not afraid of you. I’m an easy target. I’m ready and waiting. Bring. It. On.

New Video Link

I’d like everyone to take a second (OK well 3 and a half minutes) and watch this video. It made me feel a little better once it actually gets going. I thought it was very very nice. So check it.

Actually for tomorrow….

Whether you are gay or lesbian or straight or transexual or whatever, you should re-post this in support of your friends and loved ones who are. Love is not defined by color, creed, or gender. Love is Love. Love is unconditional!

I Am

I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

I am the boy who never finished high school because I got called a fag every day.

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.

I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room with me.

I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.

I am the one who killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.

We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.

I am the woman who died when the EMT stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.

I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn’t have to always deal with society hating me.

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don’t believe, but because they closed their doors to “my kind”.

I am a warrior for my country, serving proud, but cannot be my true self because gays aren’t allowed in the military.

I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

I am the person ashamed to tell my own friends I’m a lesbian because they constantly make fun of them.

I am the boy tied to a fence, beaten to a bloody pulp and left to die because two straight men wanted to “teach me a lesson.”

This boy was Matthew Shepard. On October 7, 1998, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson lead him to a remote area east of Laramie where they demonstrated unimaginable acts of hate. Matthew was tied to a split-rail fence where he was beaten and left to die in the cold of the night. Almost 18 hours later he was found by a cyclist who initially mistook him for a scarecrow. Matthew died on October 12 at 12:53 AM at a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.

This is sad, and this is touching, and this is true. If you need some happy after reading this, I suggest a strong dose of Cheezburger.

Less Than Three, Western Oregon!

I went down a rabbit hole and found Joe Wilson’s blog. Off his front page he has a link to his own love letter to (western) Oregon.

I thought it was nice and wanted to pass it on. Of course he mentions NOTHING on the far side of the Gorge or the Cascades or anything, but for the most part he gets Oregon pretty right on. I just wanted to share something nice with my reader (I know I only have one (: ).
