I have! Jebus. I’mma start a list till my dinner date gets here.
* I have been to Chicago, Toronto, and Atlanta on work trips. I have also been floated as a possible to go to LA soon, and I am probably going to Seattle in August and definitely going back to Toronto in October. When I say things to people about work being busy, I’m not kidding! I work for a software company and they send me to do software demos and answer technical questions for people at conferences and tradeshows. I love doing it, and someone who is the counterpart of my boss’ boss told me this week that at Initech “there are shining stars and there are rising stars, and I think you are a rising star.” He reports directly to the head of the US division (we’re technically a holding of a Japanese company) and it was a HUGE deal when he got hired at Initech, so to have him look me in my eye and tell me I’m pretty awesome felt pretty awesome. I recently got good feedback from my own boss too, he tells me (and has told me before) that he can go on vacation or stay home sick or whatever and know that our department is in good hands-mine. So my job lately has sucked up a LOT of time and energy. And I love it. It’s turning my position into something else a little, I don’t know if I will end up turning into a full-on Marketing flack because I’m way too geeky (imo) to be in Marketing, but I really enjoy getting out there and meeting people and doing the networking thing and making connections with people. I really like doing it but come on, if you cut me I’d bleed Appletalk, I’m not meant for Marketing. But let me tell you it is a total trip to joke about being the new Initech poster girl and then find out it’s basically true! In fact, my trip to Atlanta included our new Product Manager, because he was basically under orders to watch and learn because I’m the one to watch. Color me shocked! It freaked me out a little, but then I was pleased. It’s fantastic to be at a company that appreciates my efforts and ideas and listens to me when I have them. Having spent a lot of time at companies where that was not the case, I appreciate it even more now.
* I have also been neglecting virtually all my blogging duties, and that sucks. I’m sorry. I posted something on myspace recently just because I know most people who I wanted to make sure saw it are nowhere near my livejournal. I posted over there and just made shit worse apparently. I would like to point out in case you don’t already know, as it turns out I am a terrible horrible person. Probably more on this later.
* I am on the verge of getting sick, I can feel the scratch in the back of my throat and when I take a deep breath it’s like having the scratch in my lungs too. Last time I felt like this I got a wicked case of bronchitis that kicked my entire ass. I am afraid of being sick, but at least I managed to hold off the bulk of it until I was home for awhile and able to be here with my own bed and The Scoot and such.
* OK, seriously. How awesome is this!? I wonder if it would actually help me be more alert and awake. (:
* I’m sorry I have neglected you, whoever you are. You can actually get ahold of me very easily, I promise! You can contact me through my lj profile page and I swear I’ll get back to you. Oddly enough, I haven’t lost touch with some folks who were smart enough to send me an email or give me a call or IM me or something.
* OMG iPhone. Really, that’s all I have to say about it. OMG.
* I have some more political coming too, you might want to brace yourself for that.
* Do you watch Countdown with Keith Olbermann? Well if you don’t then ferthelubbagawd, START! I love him. He’s awesome. It’s actually lovely to get actual news, but with a bit of personality. I miss that about news broadcasting, you used to get a bit of anchor with your news, but it doesn’t really seem to happen anymore. I think that sucks.
Anyway, more later.
