The Bananaverse

Like the universe, but Banana-y-er.

OMG

So!

I don’t know if you watch Heroes or not (but if not wtf is wrong with you go start watching now now now) but I just was watching Ep 14 and I noticed that as George Takei’s character got in the Town Car the license plate was NCC 1701 and I damn near fell off the couch.

I’m glad. Tomorrow is really dragging me down os it’s good to get a laugh out of something.

If you are going to karaoke tomorrow I will probably be there. Please buy me a drink. Or five. I’ll need them. If you’re not going, please go. It will be fun. Whether you buy me a drink or not. (:

wait wait wait twitch

I realize I keep slowly evolving in Wil apparently, so this next entry should be no surprise:

I had a thing come up that I put in for. I don’t know if I’ll get it and I don’t know anything else really at this point except that I might explode if something doesn’t happen soon. Anyway. If you have some good thoughts or spare juju or mojo or whatever it is that makes things happen for people if you could aim it this direction it’d be really nice. I don’t want to say more for fear I’ll jinx it.

In other news I went to karaoke last night. I showed up by myself but I was waiting for someone else to arrive. I got there and who, pray who, was sitting at the bar having just said that I never go out so they won’t see me and isn’t that too bad? Miz Texas! I KNOW, huh? It was SO fun. He got up and sang and we had some drinks and some fun and it was great!! I did Circles (Soul Coughing), Sweetness (Jimmy Eat World), Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (Joe Diffie), and Rock DJ (Robbie Williams). Then in duet form it was Grease night, I did Summer Lovin with my friend and I did You’re The One That I Want with Miz Texas. it was SO fun!!! Apparently I effin rocked on Circles, it was crazy. I mean I did all right but who knew the breeder singin rock songs would get that kind of attention in a gay bar? So it was super fantastic happy fun time. (:

This however means I”m super fantastically tired today. gah. And I have lunch with my mom today so that should be fun. if I stay awake that long…

update and NO stabbing (sorry captain)

(My friend The Captain got immense enjoyment from the entry I titled Update and Stabbing. Sadly, this is not that entry.)

* For those concerned that I don’t write anything except how much my head fracking hurts, it’s been better for awhile now. I seem to be doing much better. It seems to be that it was just the planets of pain and suffering were aligned against me to give me the 1-2 punch of migraine and then sinus issues. It sucked, but I’m better. I did in fact have my doubts, but it no longer looks as though I am going to have to amputate my head.

* I am actually doing better at getting to bed at a reasonable hour, and I think that’s helping me some. Mostly I just need to stick with it and hopefully that will help all my head related issues.

* I went to a Martha party last night. Wow. It was a smaller crowd this time around, but still my voice was a little rough around the edges from hushing people. We gotta get that stuff going a LOT sooner too, not only do you lose the audience but people don’t make it through the whole thing because it cuts into their bar-going time.

* Recently I have spent more time hanging out with someone I like, it’s nice to have a friend who’s low key and enjoys doing stuff that isn’t always going out to the bar or looking to hook up. What a lovely change it is! Eventually I’ll figure out what the heck sort of goofy code name he’ll get here so I can blog about him. (:

* Because I keep forgetting to post it, there are at least two people who read me who will like this. “I’m just going to give you the official Pet Shop Boys joke. How many Pet Shop Boys does it take to change a light bulb? Two. One to change the light bulb and one to look bored.” — Neil Tennant in Q Magazine

* I respectfully submit my own original answer to this joke when The Scoot told it to me. “None. We all feel better in the dark.” While Neil’s is correct, mine is actually funny. (:

* Last week was a REALLY bad week in Versoland. I’m hoping this week shall be a dramatic improvement. Well I’m hoping for any improvement really, and I think since Valentine’s Day is in there and that might mean candy then it will be significantly better.

* I don’t know if you know this, but Robbie Williams keeps putting out records and his newest one is pretty good, if you’re into that sort of thing.

* Someone I work with is leaving, and that sucks. Well it sucks for me, not for him. He’s not leaving soon and it sort of came down to how the 60 hour work week has a known incompatibility with having a life. I’m sad for me but happy for him. He was one of the people who helped convince those who make these kind of decisions that I should be someone who gets to go to MacWorld. As you may know if you know me, I don’t rank all that high on Ye Olde Organizatione Chart at Initech. I always liked this guy because as I described it to The Scoot, “he has business cards and yet he takes ME seriously.” I have never worked someplace where someone with business cards gave me a chance to do anything! I’m really glad I came through for him, it sure seems like I did well at MacWorld according to what everyone has said. I don’t say it nearly enough, but I work for a REALLY awesome company. I have never worked someplace that recognized my efforts at anything and rewarded me for it, and I have never worked someplace that gave me a promotion. I have both of those AND a beer fridge. Plus we get donuts on Fridays. If it weren’t for the bus mall clusterfuck making me a couple of minutes late some days, my job would be pretty freakin awesome right now.

* I wrote this instead of watching BSG since it’s on tonight at TEN (bitches. Move it back to Fridays, I’m supposed to be in bed early Sunday nights!) so I don’t know what happened yet but once I watch it feel free to chat me up and theorize.

* My paid account ran out, and I didn’t get any more time for my birthday so I’m thinking of moving to a Blogger account instead of continuing on here. If you have comments for or against that, please leave them on this entry. (BTW: If I went to blogger you could subscribe to me if you wanted and I’d still be on your friends page.)

* I’m off to bed. I meant to make this a real quick like post and failed miserably. nighty night!

stuck.

Apparently I was karmically owed for having my head feel better today. It won’t shut down now. I have done almost nothing but think about how much writing I should do and haven’t done and what writing I have done and how it’s not my best. I don’t know why. I go through old lj posts and even though I wrote them some still make me laugh. I have had some moments of brilliance on the MetroBlog too, and lately I don’t know where that has gone. I have a suspicion or two, but if I unload all at once then I won’t have anything else to write about now will I?

I came back from Macworld all pumped to do a billion things and so far not one has actually happened. I’m hoping at some point they will, and some are in motion, which helps, but at this point none of them are done and that’s the part I’m irritated by.

Please leave a comment and give me a topic and I’ll try to write something about it in the near future. Anything! I’m up for a challenge….

head throb update

Good news! I’m not dead! Eventually my dear friend Vic finally did convince me sleep was a good idea after I ate a few slices of salami to keep my stomach in check. Today I feel a LOT better since amputating at the neck doesn’t seem like such an attractive option anymore. It’s hard to say what sorted it out but whatever it was I’m glad it got worked out.

Now my big problem today is deciding whether or not I should wear my shirt that says “Second Base” on it to a Super Bowl party. (:

ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow

My head hurts bad. It started a little bit this afternoon while I was oot and aboot with my friend PFC. I took a couple Tylenol when I got home and it didn’t help. I waited awhile and nothing, so I took two Excedrin and that didn’t help. I took Aleve and no dice. Same with my Codeine Aspirin. Then I tried my last Codeine Aspirin and one Excedrin and that didn’t help. Out of options, I had half a Vicodin and now my stomach feels even more nauseous than it did before, and my head still aches. I was hoping it would just kick my ass and make me go to sleep but thus far no luck. I am concerned because the last time my head hurt in a way that nothing seemed to help, it was like 13 years ago or something, I was still living in La Grande and going to school and I ended up in the emergency room getting a shot (yes, a shot, and yes, it was ok with me) to keep me from barfing and make me sleep. It was really really scary, I can endure an awful lot if at least I understand what’s going on, but to be in so much pain and feel so miserable and as an added bonus not understand what’s happening, that’s the worst part of all. I wish I knew what was wrong with me.

I think I need to go bazooka barf and see if bed improves things any. This sucks. If you are local and have some good pain meds you can spare, please comment and let me know. I’d appreciate it.
