The Bananaverse

Like the universe, but Banana-y-er.

Lost Observations-lobstervations? lostervations?

Here’s some things about Lost. I’mma put them behind a cut so I don’t spoil anyone who didn’t stay up retardedly late like I did to watch it.

So! Thoughts o’ mine in no particular order:

* Claire is Jack’s half-sister. That woman his dad went to visit in Australia is Claire’s mum. (She’s the only Australian, I think, that’s on the island, so it could totally be her. And how long has Jack’s dad been going there?) Either that or she had a one night stand with him and Aaron is Jack’s half-brother. Ew, yes, but possible.

* Why was Penny searching for EMP activity? I think those guys are on Antarctica. Where is she? I’ll have to look again, were they typing numbers in their machine too?

* Does what she’s looking for have ANYTHING to do with Desmond?

* Won’t those printouts show Walt talking to Michael when it was his turn on The Button?

* WTF does that key do that Desmond had?

* WTF was it that actually happened that everyone else saw?

* I STILL DON”T KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS WITH THE OTHERS!

* What did The Others want with Walt? I’m surprised they let him go, honestly.

* Are The Others doing some sort of Monsters Inc thing where they bottle emotion or TK or other psychic abberation somehow and do something with it?

* Was the guy in the Hatch with Desmond one of the Others? He looks familiar but I will be damned if I can tell you why.

* Why the suits? Was it all a front or did they really not know it wasn’t bad for them? How did they find out?

* Seriously, what WAS the incident?

* How awesome was the Dhar-donnay that Desmond was drinking? hehehehehe. It amused me, anyway.

* I know we’re all supposed to wonder, but I think Locke will survive. He’s like the other side of Jack, in a way, and I hope he survives and comes out of more like the Locke we used to know.

* I am still sort of curious about that map he stuck in the tube.

* I would look at the pile of notebooks and start closest to the tube to see where they stop…were they monitoring Desmond at all?

* Why is Alex still one of The Others?

* Is there any merit at ALL to this “sickness” nonsense that comes and goes?

* What does Danielle know exactly about all the stuff on the island?

* I’m curious how long the Others have been there and if they have anything to do with Dharma or Hanso at all. hmm.

* Those training videos are weird and weirder…I think there’s something there.

K, that’s all. Comment away! (:

Up to date Lost ramblings…

Here’s what I think about Lost up to this point. I’m not spoiling anything since this is all stuff that aired and hopefully you’ve seen it by now.

- Wouldn’t Charlie like to have a Mary for the Church he’s building? I thought he’d keep one but like, bust out the bottom and strip the heroin from it…or give the statues to Jack? He helped Libby with it, IIR and she won’t be the only one who needs something like that in the future I’m betting. I’m also betting we see them again. It was really nice to see Charlie straighten up though…I mean I liked him dark but it’s interesting to watch him grow and change.

- I freeze-framed the preview for next week. Desmond is in it. I bet it’s his boat. Remember he just frackin vanished, so where did he go? why haven’t we seen him? I think an episode with a bit about what he’s been up to all this time would be interesting too.

- Why do you think the others wanted Walt so badly? And how come they picked the four they picked? Is it because they are the only four who have full-on hallucinated on the island?

- Will we ever find out the rest of Libby’s story now that she’s dead? (in other news, I bet that’s why they were drunk and driving home when they got busted!)

Lost tonight: The Montage!

So here’s what was in the montage near the beginning (right after Ana Lucia says “You need to help John!”)

- a shot of the tailies on the beach just after the crash (from the ocean towards the beach)
- the smoke coming out of the forest towards Mr Eko
- a body face down in the water (wearing blue or purple, probably also from when the tailies crashed)
- a gold cross on a chain, lying in dirt
- bare feet walking in the jungle (a black person, was it Mr Eko?) with the teddy bear on a leash behind them
- flames
- Jin in a blindfold
- Rows of Heroin Marys
- Charlie and Mr Eko watching the plane burn
- Mr Eko’s brother (Yemi) in his church
- flames with an octagon behind them (the dharma logo) with Dharma across the center and an arrow pointing up
- Mr Eko holding a Bible (the one with the missing film in it?)
- Mr Eko’s stick with the books of the Bible carved into it
- Mr Eko’s hand on Yemi’s jaw (when they discovered him in the jungle)
- Close shot on Locke’s face (he looks surprised)
- A person, but I can’t make it out-very dark, like they’re in shadows or something
- Yemi’s body, when he opens the jacket and sees him wearing the cross
- A plane taking off
- Soldiers in a truck chasing the plane
- Yemi yelling
- Alvar Hanso from the training film
- A Dharma logo-this one with the swan in the middle

That’s a lot of stuff for like three seconds! Hopefully you can find screenshots and things later, but I wanted to make sure I got that written down. (:

workplace amusement

Just had this conversation via IM with a cow-orker:

V: http://harpers.org/sb-ninefingers-and-third-2308948203.html
I have to admit, if it goes big I don’t know what’s the better name: ForniGate or TailGate…
CW: hahaha
CW: Nine Fingers?
CW: FingerGate
CW:I like TailGate best
V: The link I clicked to get that story said “Foggo and the Nine Fingers and the Whores Of Doom”
CW: ForniGate will never make Anderson Cooper 360
V: Which is too bad, really…every gay boy in America wishes he would. Think of the ratings!

Yay me!

Big week for Moi last week.

First off, the REAL Trilogy is finally going to be released on DVD.

Then I discovered one of the few Ep 3 action figures I wanted and didn’t have.

THEN on Saturday I got to go to One Man Star Wars. Excellent! But you have to be the kind of fan who is ok with chuckling at themselves and even something that they love. It was awesome.

So yay me! I’m SUCH a geek (see below) and I wouldn’t have it any other way. During a week like last week, it really paid off. (:

Get a Mac!

I know I say it all the time, but now someone else does too! (yeah, it’s Apple. Natch.)

Check it out.

I think they’re cute, anyway. (Not the people in the ads, just the ads. Calm down.)

oh. my. GAWD. Becky.

SERIOUSLY.

In case you hadn’t already heard.

I think this is a good decision, but at this point I don’t know if they are just doing a cheapass transfer to disc (possible) or transferring the LaserDisc rips to a different format (ideal).

I would like to have the commentaries from back in the day as well, what I remember of them was that they were interesting (and I am a sucker for a commentary track).

This is what Spielberg did when ET was released on DVD. He said “only the version for 80 bucks will have the original dumb unedited version” and like everyone on earth went ‘STEVEN! WHISKY TANGO FOXTROT????” so he wised up and released both of them on the regular version of the disc as well. Everybody wins.

Finally. Everybody wins. (:

stuff, and stuff.

You ever like, read websites or your friends page or news articles and you read one thing that makes you feel good and then you read one thing that poops all over that fuzzy feeling you had?

I hate that.

In other news, if you’ve been a-missin me (and you haven’t, I know, but IN CASE!), you can find me being a bit chattier on the MetroBlog for some reason. I don’t know why but I’ve been way posty-er over there lately so if you want to see me rant and rave (with pictures) that’s where to look.

Now, back to being sad.
